INSTRUCTIONAL CAMP.
OFFICERS TO ATTEND IT. NEAR, FEATHERSTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 6. Lieuptenant O. G. Powtes, of Wellington, and Captain Melville, of Otago, have been selected to attend tlito instructional camp at Tauherenikaii. Lieutenant Powles is at present on tho active unattached list. He served with the Fourth Contingent.-in South Africa, leaving here as Seargeant-Major, and returning a lieutenant, winning his promotion in the field. Lieutenant O'Sullivan (Blenheim), Sergeant Smnile (Timaru), and Corporal Webb (Ciiristehurch), have been appointed non-commissioned officers' instructors, and will also go into camp at Tauheremkau, A squad of Royal Now Zealand Artillery went to Tauherenikan to-day to pitch camp. AH tho officers appointed have been instructed to bo in camp by Saturday night, and practically all of them will be there en tho specified date. In one or two instances an extension of a few days has been granted. Major Hughes, Assistant Camp Commandant, leaves for Featherston tomorrow mornnig. Captain Hamilton, A.D.C. to His Excellency the Governor, will act as Camp Adjutant. His Excellency has sanctioned' the appointment. Officers are being notified that mess dre=s not k* tiken lo camp, but that blue serge jackets will be worn nt dinner.
