The Rev. D. C. Bates telegraphed ihe fallowing summary and forecast last night:—Strong northerly winds ha/e prevailed, and galus m parts southward of Cook Strait. The weather has been very warm, hazy, ajid showery generally; the barometer ha.s fallen low in the extreme south, and present indications are for high, northerly winds veering to westerly. The weather will probably be stormy southward of Kawhiti and Castle Point, especially in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Rain is probable generatlv, and rivers flooded on the West Coast. The barometer will probably fall everywhere, but rise soon temporarily in the extreme south.
