Sir Joseph Ward said that lie had received a communication from Sir George Clifford stating that ha could give no useful information with reference to l-'iaxbourne except that the total fists in connection with the acquirement amounted to £(>000. Sir Joseph Ward called the Hon. J. Carroll in the To Aknu case. Mr Carroll detailed the history of the block from ]S99 to 1905.
