SALE OF THOROUGHBREDS. J At a sae of bloodstock held in Christchurch yesterday by Messrs Pyne and Co., at Tattersall's Bazaar, some . horses which have recently competed in this ; district were disposed of as follows: Oil account Mr J. "Grigg—-Outlander, by Finland—Escapade (aged) 170 guineas; Gunboat, by Calibre —Ripple (6 yrs), 10l) guineas; Zealand, by Finland, 6yrs, 60 guineas. On account Stead Bros.—-Crown Derby, by Royal Artillery—Saucer, 3yrs, 105 guineas. Another horse with great breeding strains was included in the number disposed of, namely Acrostic, from Mr G. D. Greenwood's stable. He is a fine looking three-year-old colt by Multiform from Problem, and was soid for 75 guineas, Mr Dati O'Brien, the wellknown Sydney sportsman being the purchaser. • j Chas. Jenkins and Luke Wilson, the two well-known sockeys who wore injured through their monnts (Martist and Cullinar.) falling during the running of the Otaio Plate at Riccarton last Wednesday, are now making good progress towards recovery. Both Danube's hind legs have .swollen very considerably as the result of his accident at Riccarton last Saturday oi.d until the swelling goes' down the exact _ extent of the Martian—Neva colt's injuries will not be known.
