Radley, an Englishman, in a Bleriot, covered 20 miles across country in 19min S 2-ssec. The judges believed the chronometers must be wreng, the speed is so amazing. Latham manoeuvred at the edge of storm clouds, and was in groat peril. The crowd thought he was merely shewing off. He made a rapid descent with the wind, and his machine was caught in a tree and damaged. Latham was unhurt. The balloon America 11. has not been located yet. Searchers have left Toronto on behalf of the St. Louis Aero Club. Milwaukee reports indicate that probably the balloon fell into Lake Superior. Received 1.5 a.m., Oct. 27th. LONDON, Oct. 26. The " Daily Mai] " stateß that the War Office has purchased two aeroplanes, of the Paulhan and Farraan types respectively.
