DISASTROUS CLOUD-BURST. Press Association—By Tel.—Copyright ROME, 24. A cloud-burst occurred on Mount Vesuvius causing torrents of water and mud to descend on Torre del Greco, a town at its foot, a short distance from Naples. Two families are buried. Five bodies have been recovered. Several places in Salerno district also suffered, and the railway lines and telegraphs were broken. NAPLES, Oct. 25. The floods invaded Celara, a fishing village, killing twelve people. A flood of mud and boulders foliowing the cloud-burst caused great havoc at Casamicciola and Ischia, a dozen being killed. Others were killed on the slopes of Monte Necola. The population of Paccoamento are homeless, and many have been drowned. A LINER WRECKED. CAPETOWN, Oct, 24 The Portuguese liner Lisbon, with 200 passengers, was wrecked near Paternoster. Three English, passengers *-ere drowned, but all the rest were saved. A CALL BY WIRELESS. The town of Warren, Minnesota, is on fire and neighbouring towns have been appealed to for help.
