NEWSBOYS ON TRAINS.
the Editor of the "I'imaru Herald." Sir.—"When reading your report of Bk^ le meeting of the Titnaru Chamber ot Commerce, I was very much surprised to see that this body should consider it part of their business to interfere v.it! - news agents on trains. As a matter of fact, these have proved a great convenience to the travelling public, more especially on the Hurunui-BUtff section *>f our railways. This is recognised by the of Railways, to whom the Chamber's suggestion of prohibition is to be forwarded. Jf they wish, to suggest improvements to our railways, let them confine tc Timaru and agitato for better i'aeihtic-s at our station for the arriving and departing of our trains, one thing in isartieular that is required being- a deck for the arrival and despatch of south trains.—l am. etc..
