The chief advising officer of the Workers' Dwellings Hoard, in his report, say s the amending Bill now bein«prepared will do away with tho ton* alley and lease methods of disposal, and substitute disposals by sale 011 very easy terms, viz., a small deposit, and tho balance to be paid in weekly instalments. This course will take the responsibility of payment for the dwelllngs off the hands of tho Government, lhe report on the working of the Act states that there was 110 actual rush of applicants for the 19 houses erected during the year, but thero was a good demand, and all tho dwellings were leased immediately they were available. Up to March 31 last, 127 houses had been erected and finished under the Act and of these nine were unoccupied on the above date. Three of the houses had since been let.
