Sugar Commission, said that sugar cost £' 1 3 Is 6d per ton to produce, and was sold at £'23. A Commission could ascertain the real profit made by the Company. Farmers felt that they should have a. national refinery. All the speakers on both sides agreed that a Commission was necessary, and all referred to the Sugar Company as an octopus. The only differences of opinion were as to the personnel of the Commission. The debate was adjourned till September Bth.
