Asptnjall was voted to the chair, and in. proposing the health of Mr Rolleston paid ■' high-tribute to the family name, which was known and respected throughout ■ New Zealand. They all regretted tho departure of Mr Rolleston and family from the district, and wished them well for the future. They felt they could not let him go without showing in a. ( tangible manner their high regard, for i a better friend ami neighbour they l could not have. The headmaster rei ported that the average attendance v for the past four weeks had lieen, I primary 3-10, secondary 4-5. from a roll . of 443. The attendance in the primary ii department was not yet high enough i to secure another assistant.
