Rollesfcon's house, Kapunatiki, for the purpose of making a small presentation on his leaving the district. Air W. G. Asptnjall was voted to the chair, and in. proposing the health of Mr Rolleston paid ■' high-tribute to the family name, which was known and respected throughout ■ New Zealand. They all regretted tho departure of Mr Rolleston and family from the district, and wished them well for the future. They felt they could not let him go without showing in a. ( tangible manner their high regard, for i a better friend ami neighbour they l could not have. "Auld Lang Syne" :! concluded a pleasant evening. h ; At the monthly meeting of the Tel muka District High School committee 3 ; there were present—Messrs Goo Tliom--5 son (in the chair), R. Mctson, Oolville, i J. Cooper, F. Saunders, P. A. Acheson - and G. Levens. The headmaster rei ported that the average attendance v for the past four weeks had lieen, I primary 3-10, secondary 4-5. from a roll . of 443. The attendance in the primary ii department was not yet high enough i to secure another assistant. Brown was making good progress with e -the agricultural work in connection ; with the secondary department, and in : addition to the. school plot experiments, I was arranging for a series on a farm I in- tlie neighbourhood. Various minor ; works and alterations arising from the s ; visitors' report wore discussed and ;ird ranged for and Messrs Acheson and Cooper appointed as visitors for the j ensuing month.
