! PATHE PICTURES. I' The weekly change was well patronised last evening, when, a capital programme of pictures was shown, the frequent applause testifying t 0 tho popularity of the entertainment. Tho nt}\v series were an excellent lot in every respect, the scenic, dramatic and humorous iilms bing oi a very high standard. The scenic pictures included such interesting subjects as "The tinned pine apple industry" and "The Island of Marian." Both films wore beautifully coloured. The dramatic collection is an unusr.ailv good lot and included the star film''-The President's Special,'' "Wayside Shrine,'' "Cursed Hand," and "Love of Lady lima." All were of considerable interest, and contain seme exciting episodes. The comic productions are extremely good, the star comic being "Poor Pa pays again.' The latter has the well-known French actor Max | Linden, in the leading role, and the ■ fun came fast and furious. Other good 'comic films were "Waiter's Dream." "Laughing Machine," and "Good Doggie," and all were very successful iii their mission as laughter provokers. The same programme is to be shown again this evening.
