ACCIDENTS.

I A series of accidents occurred at Temuka during the past week. A collision occurred on tho Swamp Road between vehicles driven by Dr H. Rugg and Mr T. Daly, the latter being without lights. Both vehicles were capsized, and the shafts of the former were broken. Tho occupants were thrown out and received minor injuries, but no bones were broken. On Thursday evening a second collision occurred near the stone bridge in Maude street, where a young man named Muir, riding home from Temuka on a bicycle, collided with a spring dray driven by Mr Fred Parkes. Muir received injuries to tho right arm necessitating medical attention. While Messrs Looker, senior and junior, were grabbing some gorss on ono of the town sections, the grubber of the younger struck the father on the head." inflicting a nasty wound on the scalp. Several stitches were required, and the patient is now getting on well.

CORONER'S INQUESTS.

Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, June 13. An inquest was held at the Courthouse this afternoon touching the death of Minnie Glen who was found drowned on the north beach. Mr Crooke S.M. acted as Coroner and the evidence of father, brother and Dr Moßreartv was taken. From the evidence disclosed it appears that the only cause for annoyance to the girl was that she was made to resign her position in a laundry owing t<i breaking a window. The deceased loft her home on 24th May and was never heard of until found on June 10th. It was alleged that %he girl was often on tho wharf aboard the Arahura. Very_ cruel rumours have been ill circulation about her condition at the time of liPr disappearance, but tho doctor's evidence proved them €a. be absolutely false. The girl was of a bright cheerful disposition and much respected. Her untimely death has caused much mystery.
