The Timaru Herald. THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 1910. LORD KITCHENER'S REPORT.

We received from Sir J. G. Ward last night, telegraphed from Eotorua, a message stated by the telegraph officers to contain ten thousand words,, it being "a copy of parts of Field Marshal Lord Kitchener's Australian report which is embodied in his report furnished to the New Zealand Government 011 the defence of the Dominion." "We have previously published several columns of summaries of Lord Kitchener's Australian report, in cable messages, in an article selecting certain salient points from the full report published in the Melbourne "Argus," and m a column summary of the Pith of the Report," prepared for the Argus. ' The complete message is not only too long for our ordinary news columns, but, as will be easilv understood, many of the detailsnumbers Cff men for instance—have no application to New Zealand. However, the general principles enunciated apply to New Zealand as well as to Australia, and we propose to publish these in full on Saturday.
