Day, S.M.) > A STOLEN BICYCLE. \ I Lawson Webster, alias William Smith, pleaded guilty to a charge of having stolen a bicycle from the Grosvenor Hotel, and the Magistrate sentenced him .to one month's imprisonment with" hard labour. WITHOUT LIGHTS. Tlios. Wheeler was fined 10s and costs for cycling at night without a light, and for a similar offence George Broad was fined 10s> without- costs. CAVE - ASSAULT CASE. An assault case., Thos. Kelliher (Mr Perry) <v. - W= O'Neill' (Mr Johanson), was called. Mr Joliansen applied for a three weeks' adjournment, which was granted. The alleged assault took, place-at Cave on February 17tli, and O'Neill is at present confined to his bed. "TICKETS PLEASE." i William Granger, charged with riding on the train between Timaru and Pareora without a ticket, pleaded guilty, and excused himself by saying tho offence was unintentional. He was convicted and ordered to pay the amount of the fare (9d). IDLE AND DISORDERLY. James Bunting was charged withj being an idle and disorderly person. ! Sub-Inspector Green, Sergeant Bow- i man and Constable McLean, gave evi- j dence in support of the charge. As ; defendant showed signs of extreme ex- | haustion His Yv T orship adjourned the; case for one week. I PENSIONS. . . I Mr. Day dealt with four applications ' for eld age pensions. One was ad-! journed, and two women were granted £2O and £l6 respectively, and one • man was granted £26 per annum.
