TRINITY V. ASHBURTON. •1 very enjoyable afternoon was spent, on the Trinity Tennis Courts yesterday, when a friendly match was played between St; Andrews (Ashburton), and Trinity (Timaru). Play commented at 2 o'clock and was continued until 5.30. The play shown was very good; and was noticeable fof clean volleying and hard . well placed driving. Tlio Council of the Tennis Association, together with Professor Hunter, of New Zealand, discussed tho question of New Zealand's secession. It was decided; to make certain alterations in tho constitution of tho Association. Those will bo considered at a further,meeting, and if then endorsed Professor Hunter agreed on behalf of New Zealand to rejoin tho Association. As tho Council was unanimous -to-night, it is believed that ioiidorseuieitt'Bst;cei-taiu and. that tho difficulty is practically ended.
