AN INCOEEECT REPORT. ONLY TWENTY SAVED. iPress Aseoeiation-Bv Telegraph-Copvi'ght NEW YORK, Nov. 22. The numbers of men saved from the Cherry Mine were misreportcd. Only twenty were rescued alive on Saturday, after a week's entombment, hut they reported that twenty-two are' probably alive in another section of the pit, which is full of gas. The search for the twenty-two still continues. Walter Waite, William Hynds (an Englishman), William Cleland (a Scotchman), and Joe Pigati proved the heroes of the disaster. Hynds induced his fleeing comrades to , wall themselves within a remote chamber. They wore unaware how the time passed. "When their food was exhausted they consumed wax matches, leather and cedar bark to prevent starvation. Cleland conducted service twice daily.
