WAIMATE SALES. Messrs S. K. Martin and Co report on their weekly auction .sale at Waimate as follows:—In live stock we penned two cattle, 89 pigs and about 50 head of poultry. There was a good attendance, and keen competition For pigs and poultry. We cleared all the lines. Prices finned and were in advance of those ruling at the previous sale. .We sold one cow at £4 2s 6d, and one heifer at 30s. We sold all the pigs; small weaners at 9s to lis 6d, good at 12s to 16s, small stores at 20s. Poultry: Roosters sold at Is 8d to 2s, purebred to 4s 3d, hens Is 6d to 2s, pullets 2s 2d, ducks Is -fd to Is 6d; at per head. Produce: Chick wheat best 115.6 d to 12s 6d, medium 10s to lis, oats 7s to Bs, oatsbeaf chaff ,2s, si., prime table potatoes 6s to Bs, medium 4s 6d to 5s 6d. pig 2s 6d, straw chaff is 2d s.i.. onions 2d per lb, •■ cabbage and cauliflower plants 3d to 6d per bundle, bacon 8d per lb. We also had a large entry of furniture, harness, implements and sundries, which realised full market values. A duchess chest sold at £2 ss, gun £2 2s &d, saddle at £1 ss, broadleaf posts at Is each, etc.
