ANNUAL MEETING. / The annual meeting of the Mackenzie iJouuty Agricultural and JMbGurul Association, was lie'ld in tno i<airlie Hall on \Vednesuay attenroon. .Vlr , H. A. lnnes-Joncs, president, presided owr a capital attendance. The report and balance sheet (published in i'uesday s issue; were takt-u as read. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and baian/e wieec, said that,they showed a successful year. The last show, he'could safely say,' was the host yotihcldj He explained the balance sheet in detail, and compared it with that of last year. Every item of receipts showed an increase, "except that from privileges, and over that item they apparently -had no control. The gate money, £7B, was a record,the previous highest taking being £7l 10s. The not increase in the principal items was £4o.' It had been decided to lay the ground down in turnips and grass,!, the 'ground committee supervising the work. He was ycry pleased to see Mr E. Harper, vice-president, among them again, and welcomed him on behalf of the Association. Mr Harper was prevented from taking part in the last show on account of an .ictadeut which laid him up for sev<j r ral months. He was now able to he aboiit again, and would make up for lo«t ground. Hosklng, G. J'mkertoii, -and W. Sutherland, waited on the meeting to arratJge with the Association .regarding the formation of a racing track on tho new .show grounds.—Mr W. L. Hosking explained that a 6-fur-long track could bo formed, and the track would bring in a good revenue to the Association. —The matter was discussed at great length, arid eventually it was decided that the ground committee meet the racing club on the' «=how grounds, and arrange what is to be done and to arrive'at the probable cost* and renort at a meeting of ,t'ie , show committee.
