Mr Grosley Lukin, of Wellington, one of the Press Conference delegates, returns by the Ruapehu.
Detective McLeod will leave for Christchurch to-day, having been transferred-temporarily-for t-ho Grand National week.
Mr Urquhart, late chief .engineer at. Smith-field,■-left for. his new post in Australia on Saturday. His successor at Smithfield is Mr Aitehesoii of Burnside Works, Dunedin. The Hon. 11. McKenzie, says a Press message, on Saturday visited Cromwell, where lie received a number of deputations concerning the wants of the district. The Minister subsequently proceeded to Arrowtown, where lie was entertained by the local residents in the evening, receiving a most cordial' reception. . . Constable Collins, of Pleasant Point, has heen transferred to ChTistchurch. His place at Pleasant Point will betaken by Constable Perniskie, now of Oamaru, and who was at one time stationed at Timaru.
