Interesting correspondence between Miss Ada Ward and Air Walter Bentley has been published. The latter sought to obtain from her proof of a recent statement that several actors had left the staso through her ministrations in Sydney, and asked her if she had come to a decision about returning to the stage.
Ada wired from Melbourne—" I will accept £IOO weekly." This was the result of an interview with Air Bentley in Sydney, when mention was made of staging Macbeth, and the possibility of her appearing as Lady Macbeth.
Afr Bentley replied that the. terms were prohibitive. In a letter from Adelaide, Ada stated "I shall must likely make my reappearance al Portsmouth."-
