The barque Daniel left Clarence River for Timaru on Wednesday, with timber for the new wharf. The Tongariro, ■which is due here tomorrow, will take a large quantity of grain and some wool for London. The Defender arrived from Westport yesterday afternoon. She has 70,000 feet of timber for this- port, and after discharging loads forlWest Coast.
