GERALDIXE LIVE STOCK MARKET. The fortnightly sale was held at the above market yesterday, wlien a small yarding was forward. The demand for fafc ewes and wethers was pood, ■while on fat lambs the competition •was poor, only two exporters operating, and apparently on considernbitreduced limits since last sale lu re. The following are ruling market prices:— Fat ewes Ss 6d, 8s 9d, 10s sd, 10s lid to lis; fat; wethers to 15s sd; do. lambs 10s 6d, 10s lOd, lis 2d. lis 3d. 12s 3d to 12s 6d; forward hoggets 10s sd, 10s 9d to 10s lid: store do. 8s 6d. Ss Bd. 9s 5d to 10s: ewe lambs (small) 9s Id to 12s 2d: full-mouth ewes 7s 6d, 9s 5d to 9s 9d: there were no young ewes or store wetliers forward to quote. Sheep. —The yarding of store sheep tv.as rather smaller ihan last week, and hoggets formed the larger proportion, some lines of ewe hoggets being of good quality. The demand was about the same as last week, but values were rather lower. An extra g««»:l line of 350 ewe hoggets made 14s to 14s 9d. others 12s 6d to 13s 6d, w< i!'~r hoggets 8s 6d tcf 10s, and mixed lines at late rates. Three-quarterbred ewe«. chiefly full-mouthed, sold at 1-s, lialfbreds (of mixed ages) lis. and aged ewes 8s 6d to 9s 6d. AVethers, of which no forward sorts were offered, made 1U to lis fid. Fat lambs numbered ISOO, and the quality showed a further falling off. Owing to the Home market being blocked there was a limited demand for export, and only 655 were bought for this purpose at prices ranging from 10s to 14s, according to weight and quality; 251 were boTighfc by butchers from _ 9s upwards, one"extra good pen making 14s lid, and th'i balance of the yarding was passed in. The decline in j»rt-es equalled Is 6d to 2s per head. The over all prices at the works have been reduced, and are now quoted as follows: —Under 36lbs 4id, 361bs to 4211>s 3'd, *42lbs 3id, ''Crown" quality 3M. There was a large yarding of fat sheep, mostlv wethers, of which there were :i number of prime, heavy, and medium weight- lines, and there was several lots of "extra prime ewes. There was a. good demand for wethers for export to fill orders in hand, but- buyers were operating on lower limits, and prices were easier by fully Is per head.
