INAUGURAL LUNCHEON

WELLINGTON, July 13. The newly-formed New Zealand Club held its inaugural luncheon to-day.
'J'lie idea is to meet more or less informally about cnce a fortnight, and for the principal guest at. each luncheon to deliver a brief address. Mr M. Myers (Crown Prosecutor) was elected XJresident.
The principal guest to-day was the Hon. A. T. Ngata, and the subject of his speed) was the relations of the races, setting out clearly the aims of the young Maori party. Over eighty persons were present, including the Hon. A. It. Guinness, Mr Herdman, M.P,. Mr Fisher, M.P., Professor Manes (from Germany), Professor Picken, and several clergymen.
The principal guest at the next luncheon will be Sir Charles Lucas, of the dominion department of the British Colonial Office.
