AYASUDYKE SALE. The usual fortnightly sale was h<-l<l at "NVashdyke yesterday. Tin: yarding ■was a small one, only about 350 fat sheep and 1-5 head of cattle bcm« penned. The hulk of the entrj con !" prised ewes and wethers, and for all prime lots there was good competition. For cattle the demand was poor, batchers apparently bemn ali-en'ly fnllv supplied. As in the case of wheat, there aro no offerings. Potatoes are dull of sale in the absence of orders for coastal shipment. Shipments from Bluff have hlled up the Auckland market, and supplies are offoring: at a lower rate in the south than they can be quoted here. A Danish firm writes that their country is producing year by year increasing quantities of cocksfoot, Lie qualitv of which is superior to New Zealand seed, and therefore much preferred. - It is out of the question to handle New Zealand seed at present at the prices quoted.
