•(Fruiii our Own Correspondent.) _ After the rain of Sunday and Monday -<lust week) the wea titer cleared, iuid <ji! Tuesday night tliere was a severe frost. from then till the folijwing Sunday, the ground did not thaw wherever there was any shade. The frosts have been the most severe experienced tin's winter, but tho days uere beautifully fine and sunny. The Social Club held its second social evening on Friday last. There were not nearly so many present, as on the previous evening, but all seemed to thoroughly elljoy themselves. The fun at times waxed-fast and furious, and as usual, there was a bounteous supper. Tliere is to be :i progressive euchre party followed by a little dance next Friday. ; The Morris Tube Club fired for two trophies on Saturday, one presented by J|r G. Davis, tailor, Gcraldine ( a pair ifl trousers made to order) and the utlier by the Canterbury Farmers' Cno]KTativc Association (a box of the best cartridges), G. Armstrong (1) 3->, and F. Fifield (3)-3-3 tied, and <>u the sh<x;t off, Armstrong secured first prize. The were the highest scores, infllftlilig handicaps:—G. Armstrong (1)! 35, F. Fifield (3) 3.">, I?. Allan (1) 34, G.
