LONDON PRODUCE MARKET.

Dalgety and Co. received the following cable vesterday:—"Loudon, June 23rd.—At the tallow sales. 1400 casks were offered, and 1100 sold. Any change in prices of mutton tallow is in favour of sellers. The prices of mixed tallow of good colour arc- higher hy fid to M, and dufl colour by 3d to (kl uer ewt." "London, June 24th.—The frozen mutton market is weak,, and anv change in prices is in favour «>t buyers. The frozen lamb market is verv weak, and prices arc lowed by \:\ per" lb sinco our last telegram. The frozen beef market is firm, aud prices are Id to "id-higher." THE LOCAL MARKETS.' The local markets are still very quiet, and very few sales have been made daring the week. "Wheat is quoted to-day at 4s to Is Id. the former for Bed Chaff and Tuscan, and the latter for Velvet. Very prime samples of Velvet command up to is ltd, delivered Timaru. The oat market is practically dead for the time being, only one sale having been 'reported for the week. This was a parcel of 1000 bushels of A grade Gartons, which changed hands at Is bVL Verv few oats are offering now. and the "bulk of the hnsiness passing in this cereal is being done by southern merchants with the North Tsland. The potato market was reported last week as being easier, -md it has not shown anv tendency to improve. This is attributed to the fact thtt the- North - Island market is over-supplied and to Hie heavy shipments from Tasmania. To-day's "auotation is £3 10s f.0.b.. sacks" in, but even at this (mure merchants are not keen to operate.

CLEARING SALE AT LEVELS. Guinness and LeCren, Limited, report having held on Thursday a very successful clearing sale at Cliff's road. Levels, on account of Mr Michael Fox, who has sold his farm. There was a largo attendance of farmers from the surrounding district, and all the live stock and farming plant coming torward in excellent order and condition, and for absolute sale, the bidding was brisk, and very satisfactory prices were realised. The following are some ot the principal items: —Sheep.—A tine line of " fpurf4oofch three-fiiiarterbred eires were secured by the new owner of the farm (Mr R. MacKenzie) at H's 6d. a line of five-year-old crossbred ew'es sold at 10s lid, store lambs at Ss lOd, aged ewes 8s TOd and 0s fid. Border Leicester ram iambs at 3i»s. Horses.—Mares sold at £45 10s, £42 IDs. £ls ss, £l2 10s and £lO 13*. black gelding £O, :>ay harness gelding £9 unbroken horses (fillies) £lO. £l4. £l4, colt £ll lHs. foals £l2 Ills. £l2, £7.
