LEPROSY.

The secretary of the London Missionary Society lias received irom a missionary a report stating that leprosy is increasing to an alarming extent at Cook Island. The increase in the disease is attributable to the ignorance and carelessness of the natives. The report adds that unless very severe measures arc soon taken . and strictly enforced, all tlie islands in the group will, in the ,oi,rse of a few years be full of disease and the people doomed;
