Bursting Pressure, 1091 bs per square inch. TEST 11. RESISTANCE TO EXTERNAL PRESSURE. The load was applied through hardwood blocks, embracing 90 per cent, of the circumference of the pipe, and 12 inches long. There wa-s a bedding of Plaster of Paris between the 'larclwiod blocks and the surface of the pipe. Date of Test, 13/5/09. Load at which pipe .commenced to crack, 3.5 tons.
