WAIMATE HOSPITAL BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. monthly meeting of the AYaimate Hospital Board was held in the Hoard room yesterday.- Present—Messrs J. Sinclair (chairman!, E. J. Atwill, T. L. Hart. F. J. White, J. Miller, A. Saunders, •G. Dohrman, and ■J. Hitchener. ' ' The chairman said the two probationers had started on their duties at the hospital. The committee had met ami decided to accept the tender of T. Hodge.and C>., at £59 3s, the new fever ward. Three pounds had been received from the Waitaki village settlement as'a donation, and _jtlio thanks of the Hoard were due to them. Dr. Barclay reported that he had revived an offer of services from a Miss Stodhart, , who suggested, that she s/iotdd put iii a year's work at the hos-* pital at a small salary, and also that she should receive a course of study. This was rather a large order, i and meant a lot of extra .work for him, but to oblige the Board lie wovid trv and carry it through if they decided to engage Miss Stodhart. It was decided to engage Miss Stod- • bnrt at £3O per annum and tuition, if she would accept those terms, and the secretary was instructed to wire Miss Stodhart to that effect. The committee appointed to renort en the question of hororarv offices at the hospital, stated that th",v had • ("•ni« to the contusion, after a thorough consideration, that the present system be continued. The renort was adopted. . Mr Miller, for the visiting committee, reported that minor matters had been satisfactorily attended to, and i h''t all was i>i good order. Tt was decided unanimouslv that the snlarv of the secretarv bo raised from £2O to £3O. Accounts amounting to £lB7 3s id/ were passed for Payment, and the meeting terminated.
