SALES AT VAIMATE.
Messps AVaH and Hickman report upon their usual sale as follows: —An entv of .61 weaners and store pigs came forward, -and met with a keen demand throughout-. "Weaners 10s 6d ta 17s 6d, small stores 19s to 265.6 d. Poultry.— Hens from Is Id to Is od, roosters Is 2d to 2s, ducks Is 5d to Is lid. Table potatoes 3s 6d to ss. pig potatoes Is 6d tb;,-2s. ■ chick wheat 12s, oats 6s 6d to 8s: oaten straw cliaff Is. oatslieaf chaff 2-i' ffd to 3s, onions Id per 11), vegetable marrows 4d to 9d. eating oranges 7s .6d, tomatoes lid to 2d per lb. pears Id to ljd. apples Id to lAd. A large assortment- of furniture and sundries sold at full market prices. During the week we disposed of a large number of: pigs.
POINT SAL?:. The usual' fortnightly sale at the Point- yards was held yesterday, wheu about 8000 sheep and 7ft head of cattle were penned. The "bulk of the sheep varding-was composed of breeding ewes nhd. with, a moderate entry of fats. In the fat.lamb entry there was an. exceptionally -fine. draft of 290 offered on account of Messrs .T. Orr and Co., that realised 16s 8d each. Store sheep of all descriptions w*ere in good demand, and sold at sati«faetr'i*v Tirices.
