Taking advantage of the holidays, the convicts at Gaillon prison., where desperate persons are confined, seized the gaol and forced the warders, under a, threat that they would wreck the prison, to serve soup, wine and tobacco. Next day the troops, with fixed bayonets, compelled the surrender of the convicts. Sixteen escaped to the woods, and nine are still at liberty.
