SAMARITAN HOME.

Per Press. Association

CHRISTCHURCH, March 1. „At a meeting of the Samaritan Home Trustees, it was reported that the prospective deficit for the year ended the 31st of the present month was £3OO. ■ The chairman doubted whether the Homo (a separate institution) could be carried on unless some more satisfactory financial arrangements were made. It appeared that a mistake had - been made in the annual requisition forwarded to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards last year, through' which the Hospital Board's contribution was reduced by £IOO. In addition the £IOO supposed to be contributed by voluntary subscribers had not yet been collected, and there only remained the present month in which to collect it.

A deputation was appointed to wait on the chairman of the Hospital Board to explain the position to him.
