Mr A. Graham, who has been spending a holiday in Timaru, will return to his home at Port Chalmers to-day. Miss Margaret Gov, of Teinuka, has been advised by the Registrar of the University that she has passed. the matriculation and general knowledge examination. Dr. Pearse, ship's surgeon on the s.s. Otaki, is at present visiting his people on the Waitolii, after an absence of eleven years, during which time lie completed his medical course at Home. Tlie Rev. Father Macdonald left Temuka on Friday for Wellington, where he will be associated with the Venerable Archdeacon Devoy in the Newtown parish. The Rev. Father Le Floch, of tliis town, has taken Father Maedonald's place in Teinuka. Mrs Bean, wife of tlie Rev. Mr Bean, of Addington, and daughter of the late Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, who lias been spending a few days with Mrs W. H. Brown, of Teinuka, returned home 011 Friday by the second express. Dr. Brown, the son of Mr E. Brown, of Teinuka, is at present spending liis holidays with his father. Mr A. "\V. Heap, who has been for some time in the Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association offices, being about to leave for the Old Country, was on Friday presented by his fellowemplovees with a Ivaiapoi travelling rug and set of sleeve links, and in view of liis approaching marriage, with a set of butter knives with greenstone handles. Mr Newman made the presentation, and his good wishes were endorsed by several other members of the staff.
