WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. Frequent complaints have recently been made that there is a dearth of employment in New Zealand for carpenters. The following might be good news for carpenters who are out of work. A man well-known in business circles is in receipt of correspondence from a large building contractor in Brisbane who states that —" Just at present there is a bit of a boom in the building trade in Brisbane with the re suit that there is a dearth of tradesmen. I understand that things in New Zealand at the present are dull ami that trade is fairly slack. I know that during the time of depression here a good many Queensland workmen went over to vour dominion in search of employment and possibly if they knew that things were on the up-grade here thev would come back again,"
