ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 17. Sheep.—There was again a very large, yarding -of store sheep, showing an in-: crease over the previous week's entry. The quality was, however,, not so good, a considerable proportion being of medium and inferior classes. The demand was good, though lambs were not. so keenly sought after. Ewes were in request j especially the younger sorts, and prices for these showed no change. Two-tooth ewes changed hands at 19s 3d, and other sorts 17s to 18s-6d. The best descriptions of lambs made 12s to 13s, a few well forward reaching 13s 3d, medium sorts at 12s to, 12s 3d, and Small and inferior 9s to 10s 6d. There was a fair proportion of wethers on offer, and .they were a shade easier in price. Best sorts 13s 9d to 14s 6d, medium 13s to 13s. 6d, and low-con-ditioned and travel-stained lines lis 9d to-;l2s 6d. The yarding of fat lambs totalled 4635, about two-thirds being of prime quality.' and on the whole the offering was the best;seen in the yards for- a long time past. There was a good demand for export, and the primest lots sold, if anything, a shade firmer than last week, while other classes maintained their values. 2474 •tfere taken for freezing at 13s lOd to 16s, 506 by butchers at 12s 3d to 17s, 767 by graziers at 13s 7d to 13s Bd, and 888 were, passed in. There was a fairly large yarding of. fat sheep, and the market opened at about last week's rate. The large supply exceeded butchers' requirements, and there was a decline of Is to 2s. A few lines were taken for freezing. The range of prices was—Prime wethers 16s to 18s, others 13s to 15s 6d, prime ewes 14s to 16s Id, medium lis 6d to 13s 6d, aged and light 8s 7d.to lis, merino wethers 9s 6d to 10s Bd.

Cattle. —236 were penned, of which the largest proportion was heifers and cows- _ There was an improved demand in consequence of the smaller yarding and the weather now being cooler. Steers and heifers sold at fully £1 per head better than last' week. Steers made £7 2s 6d to £lO 7s. heifers £5. to £.B 12s 6d, cows £4 15s to £7 2s 6d, calves 4s 6d to 545. The store cattle were largely made up of a southern consignment. There was a fair sale for useful sorts. Fifteen to eighteen months' old sold at 31s, twoyear steers £3 ss, two-year heifers £2 5s to £2 13s, two and a half-year steers £4 ss, dry cows 35s to £3 18s, dairy cows £3 5s to £8 15s.

Pigs.—The yarding was small, and there was consequently a better sale than of late. Large baconers changed hands at 60s to 675. lighter 52s to 59s 6d, large porkers 42s to 48s, lighter 32s to 40s, large stores 40s to 43s 6d, medium 30s to 38s, and weaners, which did not sell so well as the larger sorts. 12s to 18s. BTJRNSIDE STOCK MARKET. DTJNEDIN, Feb. 17. Cattle. —216 were yarded, of medium quality, with a few pens of extra good heifers and bullocks. In consequence of the large entries prices were easier. Best bullocks £8 10s to £9 10s, extra £ll 2s 6d, medium £7 5s to £7 15s, inferior £5 15s to £6 10s, best cows and heifers £5 15s to £6 10s, extra £7. medium £4 10s to £5 ss, inferior £3 10s to £4 ss. Sheep.—l4oo were yarded. Prices at the commencement were firmer on account of the small yarding, but there was a slacking towards the finish. Best wethers 17s to 18s, extra 19s, medium 15s to 16s, inferior 13s 6d to 14s 3d, best'' ewes 13s to 15s, extra to 19s, medium lis to 12s 3d, inferior 6s to 10s 6d. Lambs. —1000 were yarded, and prices, if anything, were a shade easier. Best lambs 13s 6d to 15s. extra 16s 3d, medium lis 6d to 12s 6d. inferior 9s to 10s.

Pigs.—7o were penned. Small pig* met with a brisk sale, and porkers and baroners were in good demand. Siicke'"* 14s to 16s. slips 17s to 20s. stores 23> to 265, porkers 35s to 40s. light bacnners 4os to 50s. lieavv baconers 55s to 60s.
