River Plate sheep, heavy 2id, light 3id ; beef, forequarters 2Jd, hindquarters 3 l-sd. Hemp is quiet and unchanged in price. Rabbits are firm, but sales are restricted. Importers anticipate a great reduction when heavy parcels arrive in a month's time. Copra is, flat; South Sea sorts, in bags, 118 ss. Australian cargoes of wheat sold at 38s Cd and 38s I'd. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner's cable message, dated London, February 13tli, is as follows: — Mutton. —The market is depressed, and there is a dull sale for all qualities. There is an inclination to-force sales of mutton 011 account of River Plate shipments, which are likely to increase. Canterbury mutton is quoted at 3id, and- North Island at 3id. Lamb.—There has been 110 alteration in the market since last week. Beef.—The market is weak, and supplies of American chilled beef are large. Current quotations —New Zealand hindquarters 3Jd, forequarters 2§d. Butter. —The nVarket is quiet, with a tendency in favour of buyers, who are holding back, expecting prices to go lower, and ars buying only what is necessary. Prices are irregular. Quotations—Choicest New Zealand 109s, Australian 106s, Danish 118s, Siberian 102s. Cheese.—The market is quiet butsteady, and there is a brisk demand Tor coloured makes (owing to short supplies), and they are quoted at 02s; white makes at COs. Hemp.—The market is quiet, with small business doing. Current quotations —Good fair grade, 011 spot, 10s per ton; fair grade, on spot, ; fair current Manila, on spot, £23 10s. Forward shipments are unchanged 111 price. Last week's Manila output amounted to 21,000 bales. Cocksfoot seed. —The market is very uncertain, and there is scarcely any demand. ' . Hops.—The market is steady, witn
a moderate demand. Wheat.—The market remains lirm. Oats, —The market is steady, with a very good demand. Beans. —The market us firm, with more enquiry. 1 Peas. —The market is quiet, and prices are slightly weaker.
