Last month the Victorian railways were handling seventy to a hundred thousand bags of wheat daily, most of it by " wheat .specials," employing ]OO locomotives and over 3(700 trucks. Even at this rate it will take three months to shift the Victorian crop. A feature of the wheat district is that they are "as flat as pancakes," therefore big loads can be drawn by the locomotives.
