The annual competitions for the Hayhurst Gup took place yesterday on the Timaru- range, between the Studholme, Ashburton, and South Canterbury Mounted ttiflesl An interesting contest resulted in Studholme winning by •24 rioints from the S.C.M.R. and 116 points from the A.M.R. ' .There ■ was little wind blowing, but a strong my rage affected the shooting of all the teams. Captain and AdjuCant Fodeh supervised the shooting, and was ably assisted by Staff Sergeant-Major Clements. At the , conclusion of the match, Captain Foden, in presenting the cup to Sergeant-Major Goldstone, congratulated the Studholme men on -their win, and called for three cheers for them, which were heartily. given.
