MATTERS 'STILL MIXED

WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. At a meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-night, Mr Leo Myers* president of the Auckland Centre, telegraphed that he intended to recognise the Christchnrch body as tlie Council of the Association until it -was constitutionally overthrown. The Southland Centre notified that the Gore Club was unable to arrange for the holding of the New' Zealand championship meeting as desired- by the Council. It was decided to offer the meeting to Otago. The Canterbury • Centre notified that it did not recognise the body in Wellington in any way whatever in connection with the. government of amateur athletics in New Zealand.
. The Wanganui Club recognised the new Council, and forwarded its subscription for ,1908-09 due to the Association. "_ /' ',' ' It was decided to intimate to tlie New '.Zealand Sports. Federation that the Council had refused to owe" allegiance to that body since October 31st, 1908.
