RIOTER FINED. APPEAL TO THE COURT. Press Association-By Telegraph-Copyright Received 9.50 p.m., Jan. 14th. SYDNEY, Jan. 14. Another Broken Hill rioter lias been fined £lO for assaulting the police. Counsel for the combined Barrier Unions applied to Mr Justice Higgins for a rule nisi to restrain the Proprietary Company from continuing the lock-out until the matter conies before the Federal Arbitration Court. Mr Justice Higgins was not satisfied that a case for an injunction had been made out. The Proprietary Company might apart from an industrial dispute be closing down for business reasons. He granted a rule nisi returnable on the 22nd, in order to give* the Company a chance ol showing cause.
