FOOTBALL.

VICTORY FOR THE WALLABIES. SCOTTISH UNION'S COMPLAINT. Press Association-By Telegrapli-Copyrgut LONDON, Jan. 13. The Wallabies defeated the Bristol and Clifton Clubs by one goal and two tries to one try. The Scottish Union complains that the Anglo-Welsh team of 1908 received a daily allowance. • The Union has cancelled its fixture with England, because the English Union sanctioned payments of a guinea a week each, besides all expenses, to the All Blacks and Wallabies. The Scottish committee is unanimously of opinion that these payments are contrary to the principles of* amateur football, and amount to piot'essionalism. LONDON, Jan. 14. The ground was heavy for the Clifton and Bristol match. In the first half play was even. Gavin obtained an unconverted try. In the second half Hickev and McCabe scored tries, and the latter was converted. Bristol secured a try.
