FIRES.
Per Press Association. DARGAVILLE, Jan. 13. About miduight a fire at Aorea, near Dargaville, completely destroyed tiie local hall, a boardinghouse occupied by Thompson, and owned by Bradley, and a cottage occupied by Low, and owned by the Mitehehson Timber Company. To prevent the spread of the (ire another cottage was demolished. The insurances are not yet available. The damage was very considerable. WELLINGTON, Jan. 13. A lire in Kenderbine and Kirkup's chemical factory, Erceman's Bay, damaged buildings and stock to the extent of several hundreds of pounds. The building was insured for £650 in the National office, and there is £350 in the Northern office, and £IOOO in the Norwich Union on the stock.
