GENERAL NODZU. Press Aesociation-Bv TelegT-aph-Copvright i'O'KlO, October 18. General Nodzu .of Russo-Japanese w.ir fame, is dead. General the Marqumis Nodzu, who was a Kagoshima Samurai, was born in 18 i l /1 He fought on the side of the Mikado in the -war of Restoration, and with the Independents in the Satsuma rebellion. During the war with China he captured Pinkang. ■ He was prominent in the war in Manchuria, and held the centre of Nogi's army at the battle of Mukden, and withe Nogi administered the finishing touches to the great Russian army.
