Forty-two competitors, including Rowland, the New Zealand athlete, started in the. twenty-four hours walk at the Stadium. T. E. Hammon beat all records, after 50 miles, including 100 miles in 18 hours 4 minutes 10 seconds, and finally covered 131 miles 585 yards. Horton was second with 121 miles and Wakefield third with 118 miles. Rowland retired after walking 15 hours.

SWIMMING RECORDS

LONDON, Sept. 13,

At Glasgow, Beaurepaire swam 200 yards in 2min 19sec, and 300 yards in 3min 57sec. Both performances are Scottish records.

Tartakover won the Southern Championship 100 yards in 63 3-ssec, which is a record.
