INTERPROVINCIAL.
Per Pros Association. AUCKLAND, August 15. J liter vie wed regarding an assertion that in the recent tramway dispute Ur McArthur had received instructions from the Government as to what his decision should be before he left Wellington, the Hon. J. A. Millar said that there was absolutely no foundation for the statement. No Minister would ever dream of interfering with the action of any judge, magistrate-, or chairman of a Conciliation Board. The only communication between himself and Dr" McArthur was a telephone message notifying him of his selection, and the date of his departure. MASTERTON, August 15. The frosts now being experienced here are without precedence. The recent records are 15, 10, 12, and 11 degrees below freezing points. The dry weather has materially improved the condition of the district.
