Talbot cars. The especial feature of the French Talbot is the extreme simplicity of the engine, in fact it; marks a distinct advance in engine design. It k manufactured by Mods. A. Clement, who is certainly the leading automobile engineer in Paris. As evidence of the- remarkable efficiency and reliability of the new 10-16 French Talbot, we have just r«eived news from Paris of the nsulb of/it series of reliability, speed, and fuel economy trials, officially conducted by the Automobile Club of France. These trials were particularly severe and lasted «>ver a period of 30 days, and the distance covered was 4000 kilometres (about 2500 miles). In these trials special strets . was laid by the judges ou such points as petrol consumption and wear of tyre-v, that is to say, the very points which directly interest motorists and intending purchasers of care. The result of the trials was that the 10-16 h.p. French Talbofc was awarded the first place and highest, award among the 4-cylinder models. The petrol i-onsuinptiun over the 2500 miles' was equal to one gallon to 29 miles. Mods. Clement, in designing the n>-w French Talbot, gave special attention to tyre economy.
