A large assortment of furniture and sundries j sold np to .full market prices. : TEMUKA SALE. The usual fortnightly sale was held at Temnka yards yesterday. The yarding was a fairly heavy one, comprising 160 cattle, 3600 sheep, and about 60 pigs. There was a good demand for all classes of fat stock, while that for breeding ewes, atore wethers and lambs was not so good as has ~been experienced at late, salee. There' is a quantity of wheat and oats offering,- but no biiyera at the prices asked,! 4s to 4s Id at country. stations being asked for. wheat. - There is still a large quantity of chaff awaiting to be shipped to' Sydney; all available space.in. the regular steamers has been booked np to, the middle of next month, and the Whangape. has, been, put on to . relieve the pressure. This steamer has been loading principally oats and chaff' at- southern ports and completes her cargo with chaff at Lyttelton. The chaff ■to bo shipped is in fulfilment of old orders, and does not represent new business- It is said, however, that there is still some enquiry for chaff for shipment to Sydney, and buyers are offering £3 15s to £3 17s 6d, while sellers are ask : ng £A and over at country stations. - Potatoes are'dull of sale and any busi-ness-now being done is on the lower quotaticns.
