The schooner Lizzie Taylor Ls expected to pub in an appearance here ai any time. ;She is bringing a cargo of timber lor her owners, J. Jackson and Go. Word has been received that owing to a delay at Lyttelton. caused by .shortage of trucks the 6.5. Navarino, with coal from Newcastle, cannot arrive here, till Thursday next. As indicating the depressed cu.dition of the freight market, the "Commercial News" fiays that the steamer v hieh are bringing the coals from the UiuVd States. to Auckland for the American fleet, obtain only 16s 6d and 16s 9d per ton. The s.s. Kaituna left Greymouth for Timaru at 6.30 p.m. on Thursday, and should arrive here to-morrow morning. It is now stated that her cargo for this port is .400 tons of coal, and 81,000 feet of timber.
The Union Company's s.s. Taieri arrived from-Australia, via Dnnedin, yesterday aftemoon. Her cargo for this port consists of 250 tons of Hetton coal for the New Zealand Railways, 500 tons of superphosphate for A. S. Paterson and Co., 125 bags of oxide of iron and 3559 feet, of timber for holders of bills of lading, 45 poles, for Scott. Eros., and 64 tuns of general merchandise. She will load produce for Wellington and \V*ut, Coast ports, and will also take cargo for Napier and Gisfaorne for transhipment at. Wellington. The Taieri will probably eail to-night.
