Chief-detec-tive Herbert said accused intended to plead "Guilty." He had represented .himself..to ilr. Adams, of Timaru, as'a farmer and sheep dealer of Geraldine. H'J said lie wanted to go to Dunedin to complete a big business deal. On the strength of ill is and a cheque for iis he obtained the car, and came down on Saturday. In Dunedin lie had obtained money from Jos. Murphy by the same means. Reginald M. Adams detailed the facts as mentioned by the chief detective. Detective. McLeud said, he arrested accused at Oulram.
