The floods are rapidly subsiding at the Taieri but it is impossible to get particulars of the losses yet- There is still about four feet of snow round Naseby. The Maniotot> County Council put 50 men on to-dav. to clear the track to Ranfurlv, about nine miles, and expected tho work to bw fini-hed i" about a week. There is a shortage of coal, kerosene and butter in Naseby. ■ The. full service on the mam south hue was restored to dav and the service was again opened to Ranfurly on the Otago Central.
